Political organizations expressed their support for the reforms during a meeting held this week with the constitutional commission led by the President of the National Assembly (Parliament), Gustavo Porras.

Speaking via “Citizen Power” media outlets, the leader noted that the meeting allowed for the gathering of views from the participating organizations and emphasized that the 16 interventions made reflected a spirit of dignity and a defense of national sovereignty.

“We held a vitally important meeting with more than 14 political parties and over three movements and associations,” said Murillo, who remarked that the gathering reflects a Nicaragua with a “homeland and patriots” committed to national ideals and values.

She also stated that the process contributes to strengthening the principles and foundations of a “free, Christian, socialist, and solidary” homeland, while calling for conduct consistent with national sovereignty.

She upheld that the country is moving forward with “the strength of the soul” and reaffirmed her confidence in Nicaragua and in the participation of various sectors of society.
