According to the Ministry of Domestic Trade (Mincin), the project aims to create a space for sellers and buyers governed by the principles of supply and demand.

Mercado de Abasto.CU will operate in both Cuban pesos and foreign currencies, conducting wholesale transactions in various formats with a trend toward lower prices, thereby directly benefiting consumers and producers.

In the initial phase, Mincin will focus on boosting the market, followed by identifying facilities and management entities, and setting up the necessary infrastructure and services.

State-owned enterprises, non-state management entities, foreign investment ventures, and domestic producers will be eligible to participate in the project, which is part of the economic and social transformations approved in Cuba.
