The agency stated that Palestinian journalists, particularly in Gaza, are facing “the worst and most atrocious campaign of targeted attacks, killings, and systematic destruction in modern history at the hands of the Israeli occupation army.”

According to the statement, these actions aim to “suppress the truth and conceal the horrific crimes committed against civilians during the ongoing genocide.”

  Since October 2023, the Israeli offensive against Gaza has left around 74,000 dead and more than 174,000 wounded, in addition to massive destruction affecting—according to Gazan authorities—90 percent of civilian infrastructure.

  The statement noted that, despite the ceasefire in effect since October 10, 2025, Israeli forces continue to carry out bombings and shootings in the Strip—actions that have resulted in 1,408 Palestinian deaths and 4,916 injuries, including among journalists.

  According to the Media Office, the 262 killed journalists and media workers include 26 women, while another 28 highly influential media activists also died during the conflict.

  Likewise, more than 433 journalists and media workers have been wounded since the war began, many of them in attacks where they were directly struck.
