Nearly one hundred participants—including businesspeople and diplomats from eight nations—have confirmed their attendance at the event, which is part of strategies to integrate tourism into the Caribbean island’s new economic and social transformations.
Yuneidis Perez Lopez, deputy delegate of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) in Cienfuegos, announced that six projects structured as joint ventures and two involving hotel marketing and management would be made available to investors.
She cited the Rancho Luna-Faro Luna hotel complex and the Guajimico resort among these facilities. She added that the two-day forum would feature presentations and business matchmaking sessions, as well as tours of sites of interest.
“On the first day, we will present business opportunities—both in person and virtually—regarding Gran Caribe, Islazul, Palmares, and Cuban Medical Services; we have also incorporated opportunities for municipal territorial development. We have dedicated the second day to tours of sites linked to the portfolio of opportunities we are promoting,” she stated.
So far, confirmed participants include 17 Cuban MSMEs and 6 self-employed workers, 3 foreign companies, and representatives from 2 embassies accredited in Cuba, as well as businesspeople from Canada, Guyana, Mexico, Spain, the United States, Angola, and Panama. A blend of historical, natural, and cultural assets distinguishes the province of Cienfuegos, positioning it as one of the most attractive destinations in the south-central region of the Caribbean archipelago.
