Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing that Beijing supports resolving disputes through political and diplomatic channels.
Guo urged Iran and the United States to uphold peace, return to the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, and resume dialogue and negotiations as soon as possible.
The statement followed Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s recent visit to China, during which Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated that Beijing’s policy toward Iran remains consistent and stable.
Wang noted then that China has championed justice within the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and multilateral platforms, while also opposing the use of force.
Guo indicated that since the conflict began, Beijing has worked actively to halt hostilities and boost peace.
