The leader of the entity—which brings together the country’s young creators—listed among the honorees the *trovador* (singer-songwriter) from Cienfuegos, Ariel Barreiros, and sculptor Enrique Avila. The artist is the creator of the Hermanos Saiz Monument in Pinar del Rio and the sculptures of Che Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos located in Havana’s Revolution Square.
The presentation of the award is part of the annual celebrations marking the AHS’s 40th anniversary, which will take place on October 18, he noted on social media.
Toledo specified that the distinction was also awarded to Radio Arte production house—which recently completed the historical series *Mis muchachos, Los Saiz* (My Boys, The Saiz Brothers), dedicated to the young poets who inspired the organization’s name—as well as the project *Se abre un libro* (A Book Opens), based on stories by emerging writers from various provinces.
The “Alma AHS” distinction was also conferred upon the Cuban Television program *Entre manos* (In Good Hands) for its contribution to promoting *trovadores* and Cuban music, featuring a production team linked to the Association.
The same honor went to the radio program *Haciendo Radio* (Making Radio)—known as the “Information Giant”—for its consistency and its role as a platform for the professional growth of young radio broadcasters.
Toledo emphasized that these accolades recognize creators, media outlets, and projects that have supported the AHS, which was founded to bring together Cuba’s young writers and artists. The organization, named after the Saiz Montes de
Oca brothers, is thus celebrating four decades of cultural work. jdt/rgh/vnl
