Xi, who is also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, affirmed that the socialist system with Chinese characteristics has shown tremendous advantages through long-term exploration and practice.

The president noted that his nation has steadily modernized its governance system and capacity, while national rejuvenation is unstoppable.

The head of State highlighted that, in the 77 years since the founding of the People’s Republic, the CPC has united and led the people through a development process that achieved rapid economic growth and long-lasting social stability.

He added that the country has achieved the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in every respect, and is advancing toward transforming China into a powerful, modern socialist country.

Xi noted that the 15th Five-Year Plan was formulated and implemented this year, while the economy withstands pressures and demonstrates strength and vitality.
