Last night, the artist posted an image of the piece in question on her social media, accompanied by the word “fake,” after a post circulated claiming that Xuxa had turned against Lula and urged Brazilians not to vote for him.

  As the presenter explained, the video used in the montage was actually recorded in 2022 and was not directed at the current president.

  The original recording, she recalled, expressed her rejection of statements made that year by then-President Jair Bolsonaro regarding Venezuelan adolescent girls.

  The material was recently edited to link it to a statement Lula made in Belém concerning preventive health screenings, creating the impression that Xuxa’s words were directed at the current head of state.

  “That 2022 video was to express my indignation and revulsion at the words of the former President of the Republic—and now, prisoner,” wrote the artist, who described the use of her image as manipulation involving false content.
