In several speeches during the 12th Ibero-American Parliamentary Forum, the Cuban delegation from the National People’s Power Assembly (ANPP) detailed Washington’s collective punishment of the Cuban people.

ANPP Vice President Ana Maria Mari Machado; Alberto Nunez Betancourt, President of the International Relations Commission; and Elba Martinez Amador, Acting Chair of the Cuban parliament’s Constitutional and Legal Affairs Commission, formed the Cuban delegation.

Mari Machado spoke at a working session on gender equality and the gender gap, highlighting the Cuban Revolution’s achievements.

The ANPP vice president affirmed that gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the eradication of all forms of violence and discrimination against women are causes that Cuba fully champions.

The Cuban delegation also took the opportunity to detail how, despite limitations, the country is making progress on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The delegation at the 12th Ibero-American Parliamentary Forum, where Cuba’s Ambassador to Spain, Marcelino Medina, also attended, held talks with lawmaker Enrique Santiago, Deputy Spokesperson for the Sumar Parliamentary Group in the Spanish Lower House.

Mari Machado spoke with Ibero-American Secretary General Andres Allamand and Carles Ensenyat Reig, Syndic General of the Principality of Andorra.

Ensenyat Reig expressed special gratitude for the Cuban medical collaboration during the most complex moments of the Covid-19 pandemic.
