Lula holds campaign events in Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte

Brasilia, Oct 2 (Prensa Latina) Brazilian President and candidate for re-election Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is holding campaign events in Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte, two days before the first round of the general elections.

The first event in Rio de Janeiro features a march organized by the “Brazil Ready for More” movement—which supports Lula’s candidacy.

Lula will participate alongside lawmakers Benedita da Silva (Workers’ Party – PT) and Pedro Paulo (Social Democratic Party), both of whom are running for the Senate representing Rio de Janeiro.

In the afternoon, the president will travel to Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, to lead another “Brazil Ready for More” march alongside Patrus Ananias, the PT candidate for state governor.

Also participating will be Marília Campos (PT) and Aurea Carolina (Socialism and Liberty Party)—both Senate hopefuls—as well as candidates for legislative bodies and political leaders from Minas Gerais.

The strategy combines in-person events featuring the candidate, national mobilization of the party base, and an outreach drive targeting undecided voters and those who have previously voted for the PT.

These two events are part of Lula’s agenda for the final stretch of the campaign, with only two days remaining until the first round of the elections, scheduled for Sunday, October 4.
