The agency reported that these measures were carried out as part of a confidential investigation into the planning of potential actions against the US embassy and consulates in Brazil. According to the PF, this was a preventive measure based on an inquiry conducted by the agency itself and on ongoing cooperation with foreign intelligence services.
The agency stated that, so far, no evidence corroborating the initially reported risks has been found, nor have any suspects linked to criminal organizations been identified.
Authorities seized communication equipment and electronic devices; their contents will be analyzed during the investigation. The PF noted that the inquiry is ongoing and that further measures deemed necessary may be taken.
This operation took place on the same day the United States suspended in-person services at its embassy in Brasilia and its consulates across the country, citing security concerns without publicly detailing the specific threats that prompted the decision.
According to *O Globo*, a Brazilian government official stated that national authorities had received prior notification regarding the situation and are continuing to monitor the case in coordination with the relevant agencies.
