Speaking on the podcast *Desde la Presidencia* (From the Presidency), hosted by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, the head of government noted that the effective implementation of the 176 economic and social transformations requires taking into account all stakeholders—both state and non-state.
He highlighted that this process began with the transformation of economic actors—starting with the Socialist State Enterprise, for which 17 transformations have been devised—and that progress is already evident in the private sector, with more than 3,600 new MSMEs approved in the last three months.
Marrero explained that social impacts have been considered throughout the design process, citing examples such as wage increases in the state-budgeted sector and measures to guarantee social protection for those who need it most.
To address the aspect of legal certainty within the context of these transformations, President Diaz-Canel also discussed the matter with Minister of Justice Rosabel Gamon.
According to the minister, a legal group was established early on to ensure the quality and efficiency of the regulatory drafting process; she also referred to a legislative schedule that preliminarily identified 138 legal provisions to support the implementation of the transformations.
