Lula will be accompanied by Vice President and running mate Geraldo Alckmin, as well as Fernando Haddad, the Workers’ Party (PT) candidate for governor of the state of Sao Paulo.
Also participating will be Senate candidates Simone Tebet (Brazilian Socialist Party) and Marina Silva (Rede Sustentabilidade), both backed by the “Brazil of Hope” Federation.
This event will be Lula’s final public engagement before the first round of the elections, marking a return to the same venue chosen by his campaign to close out the 2022 race.
On that previous occasion, thousands of supporters, labor unions, and grassroots movements took part in a rally on the same avenue.
In recent days, the president has focused his activities on southeastern Brazil, holding events in Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, and Sao Paulo, alongside other actions across different regions of the country.
For his part, Haddad will join Lula for the walk following a campaign centered—among other issues—on security, healthcare, education, and the reindustrialization of the state.
