Juan Reinaldo Perez Pardo, president of the Cuban Baseball and Softball Federation, explained this during a press conference at Latinoamericano Stadium, addressing the possibilities opened up by new regulations for the Cuban sports system.
The official clarified that the opportunity to secure sponsors would not be limited to the Industriales team—following news of progress in negotiations in Havana—but could extend to other regions, teams, and facilities.
Under this framework, each region assumes responsibility for its team as well as the needs arising from visiting teams—ranging from meals and lodging to transportation. These expenses turn every game day into an operation far more complex than just the nine innings played on the field.
The new regulations allow sponsorship to cover competitions, teams, facilities, travel, equipment, and other components of the sports system; however, contracts must adhere to established procedures and, at the national level, be channeled through Cubadeportes S.A.
Current regulations expressly provide for the sponsorship of teams and sports facilities and permit the display of brands on uniforms and equipment, subject to the necessary authorizations.
This distinction is particularly significant for a National Series that requires resources to cover travel, accommodation, meals, and other services.
