He also acknowledged the enduring relevance of Castro’s legacy in defending Cuba’s sovereignty, particularly as the Cuban people face—with dignity—an unprecedented escalation of multidimensional aggression from the United States government, a situation he denounced to the audience.
Admiration for Fidel Castro and support for Cuba were reiterated in comments from the public during the event. The presentation was part of a series of tributes in Mexico marking the centenary of the historic revolutionary leader’s birth, which was commemorated on August 13.
Attendees included Magdalena Rosales, Federal Deputy for Celaya’s District 12; Roberto Carlos Ramírez, President of the Municipal Tourism Council; members of Cuba solidarity organizations; and local residents who admire Fidel Castro and the Revolution.
