On the other hand, Ahmed Shide and Muferihat Kamil were elected as presidents of the People’s House of Representatives (Parliament) and the Federation House (Upper House), respectively. Shide served as finance minister, while Kamil was the head of Work and Skills.

The formation of a new Government and the opening of the Parliament occurs after the elections in which more than 54 million citizens were registered to vote, with 42 political parties and 10 438 candidates participating in the electoral contest.

The ruling Prosperity Party won 438 seats in Parliament, clearing the constitutional path to form and lead the federal executive for the next legislative term.
