The 11th Energy Week of the Latin American Energy Organization (Olade), running until October 9, will also bring together some 200 international panelists and over 3,000 participants, including government officials, representatives from multilateral organizations and companies, specialists, and financial sector representatives.
Supply security, investment, and the transition to more sustainable systems are among the central topics on an agenda aimed at strengthening regional energy cooperation and integration.
The discussions, to be held at the Hotel Embajador in the capital, will be organized around four key themes: electricity supply security, rural and urban electrification, integration, and financing mechanisms to accelerate the shift toward clean energy sources.
Dominican Minister of Energy and Mines Joel Santos noted that hosting the forum in the country offers an opportunity to strengthen coordination among nations and advance joint initiatives to address the sector’s challenges.
The agenda includes discussions on rising electricity demand, the resilience of generation and distribution systems, and the need to mobilize resources to diversify energy matrices.
