The session will debate the PEC 221/2019, approved by the Chamber of Deputies in May and backed in September by the Senate’s Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ).
The proposal modifies constitutional rules regarding the workday and establishes a transition to reduce maximum working hours.
The initiative establishes reducing the maximum workweek from 44 to 40 hours without wage reduction, and guarantees two paid rest days, one preferably on Sunday.
This arrangement allows for five working days with eight hours per day.
