Through this non-profit work, the organization has reunited young people living abroad, or within the country, with their biological parents, its vice president Ana Maria Olivares told Prensa Latina.
Olivares explained that others are still waiting, as it is very difficult to help the children understand that their parents did not abandon them; rather, they were victims of trafficking, a crime.
She lamented that the Unit for Origins and Family Members of Individuals Affected by Illegal, Forced, or Irregular Adoptions (UBAFI) closed this year.
Despite this setback, the foundation continues searching for families, facilitating reunions, and helping to reconstruct their life stories.
The abduction of children occurred not only in Chile but also in other countries such as Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, and Guatemala.
