Thun made these statements during a meeting with Havana’s Ambassador to Cambodia, Milena Caridad Zaldivar.
The official praised the island’s experience in primary healthcare and professional medicine training, from which several generations of graduates from this Asian nation have benefited.
He also mentioned Cuba’s experience in biotechnology development, including production of essential medicines, particularly for diabetes, hepatitis B, and cancer.
Thun and Zaldivar exchanged views on shared understandings between the two countries to boost beneficial actions and strengthen support for the causes both peoples defend within the framework of international law.
Zaldivar, in turn, reaffirmed potential cooperation and appreciated the shared willingness to expand and strengthen them through the close parliamentary ties uniting Cuba and the Kingdom of Cambodia.
