Palestinian authorities reported that more than 74,000 people have been killed and hundreds of thousands have been injured since the hostilities began; meanwhile, vast areas of the enclave have seen damage to homes, healthcare centers, schools, water networks, and economic facilities.
The destruction has also hampered the population’s ability to restore their living conditions, amid ongoing displacement and restrictions on the entry of materials and equipment needed for reconstruction works.
Citing the latest assessment by the United Nations Satellite Center (UNOSAT), the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) reported on October 5 that about 82 percent of buildings in Gaza have been damaged as of June 16.
The Gazan Health Ministry noted that 74,243 Palestinians were killed and 175,232 were injured until October 5, 2026. These figures continue to grows when victims are identified, and records are updated.
Despite the ceasefire deal, Palestinian health authorities continue to report casualties.
Between the deal’s entry into force and October 5, some 1,460 people died, and 5,116 were injured, and 836 bodies were recovered.
