In the first half of August, members of MASCuba traveled to Cuba and, among other activities, assisted in the distribution of 45 3-kWh kits to families with children who require climate-controlled environments due to their medical conditions.

Following that gesture, MASCuba has now set a goal to raise funds to purchase two higher-capacity solar energy systems for the Enrique Cabrera National Hospital in Boyeros municipality, Havana.

Various activities—such as arts festivals, discussion forums, and political-cultural events—are being organized across the country to raise the necessary funds and demonstrate that the Cuban people are not alone during this time of cruel blockade.

The campaign’s communications committee noted that this act is not only an aid alone, but also a way to thank Cuba for the solidarity it has extended to other nations—including Argentina—such as providing millions of free off charge eye surgeries, conducting literacy programs for millions of people in 30 countries, and training doctors from some 70 nations.

Alberto Mas, a driving force behind the “We Stand with Cuba” campaign at the Argentine-Cuban Friendship House in Buenos Aires—a key hub for the solidarity movement—told Prensa Latina that the current objective is to send two complete 10-kWh and 20-kWh systems to the National Hospital to ensure a reliable power supply for vital areas of the facility.

Solidarity contributions are being received in the campaign’s official account held by the “Casa de la Amistad Argentina Cubana” at Credicoop Cooperativa Ltda., under the alias PICO.DAMA.CLIMA.
