Cuba rejects US report on human trafficking

Havana, Oct 10 (Prensa Latina) Cuba denounced a new US report on human trafficking, stating that it seeks to justify Washington's aggressive policy against the island and its campaign against Cuban medical cooperation in various countries.

Writing on the social media platform X, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez described the document as a “unilateral and mendacious” report and asserted that it is part of US attempts to sustain its policy against the Caribbean nation.

Rodriguez called the explicit admission within the report itself—regarding the pressure and blackmail Washington exerts on governments receiving Cuban medical cooperation—”cynical.”

He stated that these actions are carried out without regard for the consequences for the populations benefiting from the presence of Cuban health professionals.

The head of Cuban diplomacy further affirmed that the US government is once again resorting to lies in an attempt to manipulate international public opinion regarding the cooperation programs the island carries out.

International medical cooperation is a primary expression of Cuban solidarity and has been present for decades in dozens of countries through healthcare assistance programs, specialist training, and emergency response efforts.
