Landowner in northern Vietnam finds ancient vessels

Ninh Binh, Vietnam, Oct 14 (Prensa Latina) A landowner in the northern Vietnamese city of Ninh Binh has been shocked after a digging he practiced to lay the foundations for a house and discovering several vessels dating back six or seven centuries.

Preliminary assessments identified the objects—described as ceramic vessels—as artifacts from the Tran Dynasty (13th and 14th centuries), Hoang Van Cuong, deputy director of the Ninh Binh Museum, confirmed to the digital newspaper *Tuoi Tre* (Youth).

In an interview with the publication, he explained that his institution had documented the historical relics, noting that about 20 of them remain relatively intact.

The finding was made while a local resident and several families were working on the land prior to the start of foundation construction.

While inspecting the family plot, a man found hard objects within an area of about three square meters in the Cua Bac 2 resettlement zone, in the Hoa Lu ward.

Suspecting that something unusual was happening, he immediately halted digging and notified local authorities.

The vessels resemble traditional ceramic containers that could have served various purposes, such as storing food, transporting goods, or holding ashes.

Van Cuong stated that no other artifacts were found at the site besides the ceramic vessels; he added that the vessels had been placed upside down on the ground and deliberately stacked upon one another, suggesting the site was used to store belongings.

The site is located near other historical locations linked to the Tran Dynasty, such as A Nau Pagoda (about two kilometers away) and Duc Thanh Ca Temple (approximately one kilometer away).
