Blanco spoke of the privilege of editing this text by Fidel Castro, in which he reveals letters, sentiments, opinions, tactics, and strategies, as well as the victorious advance of the guerrilla force that transformed into the Rebel Army to achieve triumph on the island on January 1, 1959.
The Cuban Embassy in Mexico noted that Blanco was accompanied by Norma Rodriguez, the diplomatic mission’s cultural counselor.
The book, available to Mexican readers through Presencia Latinoamericana, was originally published in 2010 by the Council of State’s Publications Office and reissued in 2011 by Ocean Sur, a revised edition enriched with new data by Fidel Castro himself.
Since October 9, the 26th Zocalo International Book Fair has brought together 353 publishing houses in this capital, an event considered the world’s largest open-air bookstore and an emblematic space for critical thought in Mexico.
The fair, taking place in the country’s leading public square until October 18, will feature more than 260 activities, including 118 book launches, 71 lectures and talks, and 21 musical events and concerts.
