Netanyahu made these remarks during a visit to the so-called “Seam Zone”—located between Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories—in a video released and circulated by Israeli media outlets, including the newspaper *Israel Hayom*.
The head of government described the Tulkarem camp as a “long-standing terrorist stronghold” and praised Israeli military operations in the area.
His statements followed a ruling by Israel’s Supreme Court ordering the government to present a timeline for completing the measures necessary for the return of displaced Palestinians from the three camps and to consider mechanisms to accelerate their return.
Netanyahu rejected the possibility of allowing their return, labeling the camp residents as “saboteurs.” He also asserted that the Israeli army would remain in the area and ruled out the presence of Arab military forces west of the Jordan River.
The Prime Minister reiterated that Israel would keep territorial control from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea and announced that his government would continue to promote settlement expansion.
Netanyahu’s statements coincide with the election campaign leading up to the Knesset vote scheduled for October 27, against a backdrop marked by the consequences of Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip—launched in October 2023—and the persistence of Tel Aviv’s military operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
