The evening brought together dozens of people who enjoyed a wide repertoire of Cuban music performed b Camerata Bach, Jazz Ta group and singers Lenin Triana, Mitchel Sanchez, Erika Seyjas and Marbin Moreno.
The show, entitled “Trova Sinfonica,” included emblematic Cuban songs, among them “Cancion del Elegido”, “Ojala” and “Cancion Urgente para Nicaragua”, by Silvio Rodriguez; “Mama, Son de la Loma”, by Miguel Matamoros, and “Yo soy el punto cubano,” by Celina Gonzalez.
Others such as “Yolanda” and “El Breve Espacio En Que No Esta” by Pablo Milanes, and the bolero song “Como fue,” popularized by Benny More, were also heard. “La Guantanamera”, by Joseito Fernandez, closed the concert.
The National Theater’s director, Ramon Rodriguez, noted at the beginning of the evening that Camerata Bach has been doing this kind of activity for Cuban culture for more than three decades, which, he said, shows the Nicaraguans’ gratitude to the people and government of the island.
