Eleven independent venues in nine states will show seven films from the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE)’s collection from that date to November 3.
The films will also be screened on five public television channels and be available on nuestrocine.mx.
One of the celebration’s attractions will be the screening of the restored version of “Valle de Mexico” (Valley of Mexico) on October 27, alongside six short films and digitized works from the Cineteca Nacional’s non-fiction collection.
World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, established in 2005 by the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), seeks to recognize the importance of preserving, restoring, and disseminating such archives and documents worldwide.
