OCHA said nearly half of the displaced individuals sought refuge in southwestern Taiz governorate.
The humanitarian agency stated that it has verified 251 civilian casualties, including 57 dead and 194 injured, with half of the fatalities being children.
Despite difficult conditions, humanitarian partners have reached more than 174,000 displaced people since August, nearly six out of every 10 affected families, providing food, hygiene kits, and emergency financial aid.
OCHA noted that newly displaced families said their most pressing need is shelter, followed by food and financial aid.
Yemen has remained mired in conflict since the Houthis seized Sana’a and other provinces in September 2014. In March 2015, an Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia intervened to support the internationally recognized government.
