Participants in the broadcast—which aired on Janones’ YouTube channel—included actresses Marieta Severo, Camila Pitanga, and Leandra Leal, singer Jao, television host Serginho Groisman, and financial educator Nath Financas.
“It is a joy to be fighting alongside you.
Ever since the start of the runoff, I’ve been saying: ‘We’re going to turn this around; we’re going to pull it off.’” “I am happy to say that I have always voted for you,” stated Leal, expressing her support for the president.
Her mother, fellow actress Angela Leal, shared that she postponed a scheduled surgery in order to head to the polls. “I had a complex operation scheduled, but I put it off just to vote for you,” she told the president.
Meanwhile, Pitanga defended the president’s candidacy, asserting: “We want Lula because we know you respect the Brazilian people.” She also questioned Flavio Bolsonaro for his support of the military police officer accused of killing young Ana Clara Gomes Machado.
Marieta Severo remembered her own experience during the Brazilian military dictatorship (1964–1985) and urged voters over the age of 70—for whom voting is not mandatory—to participate in the election.
The actress noted that, due to restrictions imposed by the dictatorship, she was not able to vote for a president for the first time until she was 43 years old.
For his part, the singer Jao called on young people to head to the polls. “I’ll be there bright and early, all dressed up, to cast my vote—and I want everyone else to be there, too, to help build—to continue building—the Brazil we want,” the artist urged.
During the broadcast, Lula called for continued mobilization throughout the final two days of the campaign and highlighted the role his supporters play in protecting democracy.
