In the conversation, which was shared on social media, the president addressed members of the digital channel “Lula’s Army”—an initiative launched by Janones via WhatsApp—and urged men, women, young people, and the elderly to remain politically engaged.
“I wanted to speak with my ‘army’ because we have a great battle to fight—a battle that will involve millions of people,” said Lula, describing the movement as an open initiative with no age or gender restrictions.
The president stated that the mobilization is focused on causes he deems vital for the country, including the defense of democracy and the fight against femicide.
Discussing potential proposals for a future term, Lula announced his intention to create a secretariat dedicated to providing financial guidance to lower-income sectors. He explained that this initiative could operate outside the formal ministerial structure to avoid excessive bureaucracy.
The president noted that the proposal would be aimed at groups such as artisans and low-wage workers, who, in his view, require guidance on how to manage their financial resources.
During the broadcast, Lula also reiterated his opposition to online sports betting platforms—known locally as “bets”—stating that he has no intention of allowing them to operate, while questioning the impact these activities have on lower-income individuals.
