The event’s 12th edition is taking place in Bahir Dar, Amhara region, and will continue until October 25 under the theme “Pathways to Peace in Africa: Economic Sovereignty and Geopolitical Transformation.”
The forum brings together leaders from several countries, heads of regional and international institutions, former heads of State, and high-ranking political officials.
The event will also host discussions among special envoys for the Horn of Africa, as well as bilateral meetings between the leaders in attendance.
Fitsum Girma, Deputy Director General for Africa Affairs at Ethiopia’s Foreign Ministry, noted that the event yields several intangible benefits by creating opportunities for bilateral meetings between leaders, running alongside the formal sessions.
Girma underscored that Ethiopia actively participates in the Forum as part of its diplomatic work and efforts to talk on peace and security in Africa.
