Yosvany Pupo, First Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, led the working session alongside the provincial governor, Manuel Hernandez, to assess the implementation of current regulations within the wholesale and retail sectors.
During the visit, the participants analyzed strategic priorities, including the decentralization of business operations to the municipal level, financial stabilization, and the impact of new management models—such as those involving MSMEs (micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises) and cooperatives.
Pupo emphasized the need of increasing the availability of goods and services, with a special focus on vulnerable groups. He also underscored the requirement for strict adherence to consumer protection regulations and the maintenance of the central commercial registry.
These initiatives are part of a national strategy designed to enhance the efficiency of the domestic trade sector and ensure that economic transformations translate into tangible benefits for communities across the country.
