In a statement read during their spring gathering in Hanoi members of a multi-generational group of Vietnamese graduates from Cuban universities affirmed that the country that welcomed them in their youth poses no threat to anyone.
They added in the text, which Prensa Latina had access to, “Cuba has been, and remains to be a benchmark of solidarity that commands the respect and admiration of peoples across the globe.”
The group noted that, for more than six decades, successive generations of Vietnamese students in Cuba experienced a warmth, solidarity, and values that forged an unbreakable bond of brotherhood and affection for the Cuban people.
“While reiterating our gratitude and steadfast solidarity with Cuba, we express our deepest concern for the immense difficulties currently faced by this fraternal nation, consequences of the prolonged effect of the blockade and the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US government, including the siege to fuel supplies.”
