DPRK rejects South Korean accusations at UN

Pyongyang, Oct 26 (Prensa Latina) The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) highlighted its recent complaint at the United Nations on South Korea's baseless attempt to hold it responsible for an alleged border incident that North Korea views as a provocative move. KCNA reported that the permanent representative of the DPRK to the United Nations recently sent a letter to the Security Council rejecting Seoul's accusations of a "landmine explosion" that allegedly occurred near the border.

The DPRK government states that the incident is a farce to discredit the defensive fortifications established along its southern border, as a legitimate exercise of sovereignty under the United Nations Charter.

The letter accuses South Korea of engaging in provocative acts, such as firing warning shots at DPRK military personnel, which would violate Article 2.4 of the UN Charter, prohibiting the use of force against the territorial integrity of another state.

The DPRK notes that if such actions recur, it will exercise its right to self-defense, as recognized in Article 51 of the UN Charter.
