The event is held under the theme “Building Competitive Agrifood Economies: Policies, Trade, and Industrialization Pathways for Africa,” and is organized by ANAPRI, in partnership with Ethiopia’s Policy Studies Institute.
The conference brings together policymakers, researchers, private sector representatives, and development partners to discuss strategies to strengthen Africa’s agrifood economies.
ANAPRI’s Strategic Plan for 2027-2031, which aims to strengthen research on legislation, institutional capacity, and the transformation of research findings into practical solutions, will be presented during the meeting.
Discussions will address key challenges, including low agricultural productivity, high production costs, and limited value addition, while examining regional trade, agri-food industrialization, technological innovation, and climate resilience.
ANAPRI is a Pan-African network comprising 17 agricultural policy research institutions across 16 African countries.
It strengthens evidence-based policymaking and addresses the challenges facing agricultural and food systems throughout the continent.
