Mirzoyan stated at a joint press briefing with Slovenian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tone Kajzer, “We stopped participating in this organization’s activities for a long time and froze our membership. If other members of this organization or its general secretariat make any comments, they are in vain.”

The Armenian foreign minister added that the country’s leadership has no plans to return to the CSTO.

CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha previously affirmed the necessity to exclude Armenia from the CSTO, given the country’s refusal to participate in its work.

Last Friday, current CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov confirmed Armenia’s de facto withdrawal from the organization.
