France Cuba denounces US blackmail to “buy” votes at UN

Paris, Oct 28 (Prensa Latina) The France Cuba Association denounced the mafia-style blackmail used by the United States to "buy" votes against Cuba's resolution at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) calling for an end to the US blockade.

The association stresses, “On the eve of a new vote at the UNGA on the resolution to lift the blockade against Cuba, the mafia-style blackmail by the United States to ‘buy’ votes” against that nation has never been stronger.

France Cuba President Fabrice Leclerc decried in a statement to which Prensa Latina had access to that Washington is seeking to justify new measures and actions that are the root causes of the complex situation Cuba is currently facing.

The economic, financial, and commercial blockade is now entering its seventh decade, dating back to the start of the Cuban Revolution, remembers the long-standing solidarity organization, which was founded in 1961. France Cuba highlights that such a siege is part of the Monroe Doctrine, the Helms-Burton and Torricelli Acts, and recent unilateral coercive measures, all compounded by the extraterritorial application of US legislation, which is being used as an economic weapon.
