The event—to be held in the central province of Sancti Spiritus—will feature both virtual and in-person activities and presentations.
According to *Granma* newspaper,
the symposium was organized by the Cuban Society of Hygiene and Epidemiology (through its provincial chapter in Sancti Spuritus), the Council of Scientific Health Societies in that territory, and the Provincial Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Microbiology.
The symposium, themed “For a Healthy Life Expectancy for Men,” aims to foster discussion on issues affecting men’s health, the prevention and control of risk factors, and approaches to integrated, comprehensive care in managing non-communicable diseases.
The international event will cover topics such as high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, mental health, cardiovascular risk (with a gender-based perspective), the improvement of primary healthcare services, life expectancy at birth by sex, and the real dangers associated with smoking, alcohol consumption, a sedentary lifestyle, obesity, and unhealthy eating habits, among others.
