The grant is open to Cuban residents in the country, up to 35 years old folks—whether or not they are members of the AHS—provided they have not previously received this award.

According to the call for applications issued by the organization, candidates must submit a sample of at least five songs in MP3 format, composed by Cuban artists and spanning any genre of popular and/or traditional music.

Applications must include a document—no longer than one page—outlining the project’s rationale, along with the applicant’s personal information (full name, national ID number, home address, email, phone number, and a brief curriculum vitae).

Projects must be submitted by October 31 to becasypremiosahs@gmail.com, with the subject line “Beca Elena Burke.”

Applicants should attach the project document (in Word or PDF format) and the songs via a Google Drive link.

Alternatively, proposals may be submitted in digital format at any of the AHS offices throughout the country.

The grant comprises an official diploma and a monthly stipend of 5,000 Cuban pesos for a period of six months to support the development of the recipient’s repertoire.

It also includes the production of promotional material in collaboration with the record label Bis Music, featuring the selected works and/or other pieces that align with the scope of the grant.

This material may take the form of an EP, CD, EPK (Electronic Press Kit), music video, or an audiovisual production (such as a recording of a launch concert), depending on the specific requirements and nature of the winning project.

If the grant recipient is not a member of the AHS and is interested in joining the association, their application for membership will be processed on an expedited basis.

Once the grant is awarded, the winning project will be included in the Bis Music catalog.
