Brazilian Vice President to meet newly elected young lawmakers

Brasilia, Nov 4 (Prensa Latina) Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin will meet with newly elected young federal and state lawmakers to thank them for supporting President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva during his reelection campaign.

Folha de S.Paulo reported that the meeting will take place at the Vice Presidency headquarters in Brasilia, at the request of Alckmin, who also aims to establish a channel of dialogue with the new lawmakers ahead of the fourth term of the Workers’ Party (PT) leader.

The newspaper stated that among the newly elected federal lawmakers are Ana Elisa of the PT in Minas Gerais, Fabio Felix of the Socialism and Liberty Party in Federal District, Ana Julia of the PT in Parana, and Luna Zarattini of the PT in Sao Paulo.

Also attending are Duda Hidalgo of the PT (Sao Paulo), Mucio of the Brazilian Socialist Party (Federal District), Telca Nelma of the PT-Alagoas), and Flavio Brasileiro of the PT (Paraiba).

The newspaper stated that Alckmin’s initiative also reflects the assessment by the Planalto Palace on the role played by these figures, particularly on social media, during the elections’ runoff.
