Riyadh, Nov 5 (Prensa Latina) Syria and Saudi Arabia signed six loan agreements worth more than 403 million dollars to finance service and infrastructure projects, the Syrian Finance Ministry reported.

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, visiting this capital, and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman signed the accords.

The Ministry stated via Telegram that Syrian Finance Minister Mohammed Yisr Barnieh signed the documents on behalf of his nation, and Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Chief Executive Officer Sultan bin Abdulrahman al-Marshad signed on behalf of Saudi Arabia.

The agreements include rehabilitating the Aleppo thermal power plant, modernizing drinking water metering systems, developing civil defense centers, restoring damaged housing, building and equipping healthcare facilities, and the digital transformation in government financial services.

The Ministry noted that one of those loans, which exceeds 90 million dollars, will be used to rehabilitate the generating units at the Aleppo power plant, restore its production capacity and ensure a stable power supply for about five million people.
