Washington, Jun 23 (Prensa Latina) Senate Republican on Tuesday blocked Democrats´ sweeping elections and ethics reform bill, renewing calls from progressives to nix the legislative filibuster. In a 50-50 vote, the Senate failed to move forward on the proposal (called ¨For the People Act¨), that is, below 60 votes necessary to be analyzed in the Senate.
