The senior official told reporters that the event will be held in the context of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) summit, scheduled for June 26-27, and the program will also include the 4th Eurasian Economic Forum.

Ushakov said that on June 27 a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be held under the chairmanship of Belarus, which will be attended by the presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

The advisor explained that the theme of the plenary session, moderated by Belarusian Minister of Information Marat Markov, will be “Strategy of Eurasian economic integration: results and prospects”.

At the meeting Putin will be asked to assess the role of the EEU in the formation of a new multipolar architecture of international relations and to give his opinion on the prospects for cooperation between the association and global and regional financial institutions, he added. The EEU is an economic alliance comprising Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. In addition to the member countries, this year’s summit will be attended by Cuba, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates and Mongolia.
