The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at the Adwa Victory Museum in the capital, as part of the Second Summit of African Political Parties.
The pact creates a space for ongoing institutional dialogue, the exchange of experiences, and cooperation in areas such as governance, leadership development, the strengthening of institutional capacities, and national development.
Furthermore, it provides a structured foundation for both parties to bolster their long-standing political relationship, identify areas of mutual interest, and leverage shared experiences to support their respective national development agendas.
The signing, which took place during the continental summit, highlights the role of political dialogue in transforming common interests into concrete institutional alliances.
The gathering served as a platform for African political parties to expand their interaction, exchange viewpoints, and establish mechanisms for both bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The agreement aligns with the broader objectives of the African Political Parties Initiative, which seeks to consolidate these groups into enduring institutions capable of contributing to innovation in public policy, good governance, leadership development, and economic transformation—extending well beyond mere electoral competition.
