Russia has expressed its readiness for the third round of negotiations; and we are now awaiting a response from Ukraine, Fidan told local channel TRT Haber after his participation in the BRICS summit in Brazil.

The Turkish government is also ready for a leaders’ meeting on the Ukrainian settlement. There are no problems in organizing a leaders’ meeting in Turkiye, he stated.

The Turkish Foreign Minister considers the two rounds of direct negotiations on Ukraine in Istanbul to be a success.

The previous negotiations allowed for a record exchange of prisoners and deceased, the minister noted.

He added that, in his opinion, the parties are satisfied with the humanitarian aspect of the negotiation process.

The question is how to ensure a permanent or temporary ceasefire. Will it be achieved at a summit with the participation of leaders or during negotiations? Talks on this matter are ongoing, despite the parties have different ideas.
