Ismail al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, emphasized that more than two million people there live under bombardment, hunger, and deprivation of the most basic needs.
Al-Thawabta also alerted on the destruction of infrastructure, the collapse of the healthcare sector, and the severe shortages of food, water, and medicine.
He also warned of the worsening famine in the territory and the failure of international efforts to bring relief, while hundreds of aid trucks remain stranded across the border.
Given this situation, Al-Thawabat called for the establishment of safe and permanent humanitarian corridors under international supervision, the elimination of the politicization of aid, and an end to its manipulation.
