He will also request the impeachment of former Minister Antonio Gonçalves, Manzano’s predecessor, for the same reason.
Gonzalez stated that the reports from the State Comptroller General’s Office reveal serious irregularities in the projects awarded to the Progen company, including breaches of contract and possible administrative liabilities.
In particular, the projects for installing 150 megawatts at the Quevedo and El Salitral power plants, where the Progen company failed to comply with established deadlines, resulting in fines of approximately 900,000 dollars, are also mentioned.
The legislator also noted that the impeachment request is based on Manzano’s refusal to appear before the Oversight Committee of the National Assembly (Parliament).
