“Events in the Middle East, an unprecedented crisis, and a significant escalation of violence have shown once again that without a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian question, there will be no genuine peace and security in the region,” Vershinin said at a High-Level International Conference at the UN.
Furthermore, the diplomat, speaking at the event titled “Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution,” described the current situation in the Palestinian territory as “massive dehumanization.”
On July 25, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France would officially recognize the State of Palestine at the UN General Assembly to be held in September.
Likewise, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office announced on July 29 that the United Kingdom would recognize Palestine as an independent and sovereign state in September if Israel did not take steps to end the conflict in the Palestinian enclave.
