According to the report, the meeting took place in a climate of sincerity, friendship, and cooperation.
Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to the ceasefire agreement and recognized China’s constructive work in de-escalating the border conflict.
This trilateral meeting represents Beijing’s latest diplomatic initiative to support a peaceful solution between Phnom Penh and Bangkok.
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, since the outbreak of the conflict, China has promoted efforts to calm down the situation, and Foreign Minister Wang Yi has maintained direct contact with the foreign ministers of Cambodia and Thailand, as well as with the Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Beijing reportedly sent its special envoy for Asian Affairs on two direct mediation missions.
China also reiterated its support for ASEAN’s role in the process while maintaining close coordination with Malaysia, in its capacity as the bloc’s pro tempore chairman.
In Beijing’s view, the current ceasefire situation remains fragile, and in this regard, today’s meeting seeks to strengthen mutual commitment and create conditions for restoring lasting peace.
